JAMES P. CAREY joined Church, Harris, Johnson & Williams as a shareholder on January 1, 2019. Jamie has more than 20 years of litigation experience, having worked as a partner in the Helena firm of Lamb & Carey (2004-2018), and as an associate with Thueson & Lamb in Helena (1997-2003).
After graduating from the University of Montana School of Law in 1996, Jamie served as a law clerk to Montana Supreme Court Justice William E. Hunt.
As an undergraduate student at Loyola University of Chicago, Jamie was a member of the National History Honor Society, the shortstop on Loyola’s baseball team during the 1988 and 1989 seasons, and he also spent the 1989-90 school year studying at Loyola’s Rome, Italy campus.
Jamie was born at Darnell Army Hospital, Fort Hood, Texas, and raised in Oak Park, Illinois. He lives in Helena with his wife Lori and their two daughters, Caroline and Eliza.
